Requirements:
Minimum experience of 5 years, with at least 5 publications in peer reviewed journals.

  • Prior experience in conduct of nutrition related research.
  • Excellent technical, analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills, written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, goal and detail-oriented work style, and consistent follow-through on research projects.
  • Experience liaising with Institutional Review Boards, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and other regulatory, academic, and governmental institutions.
  • Training in epidemiologic methods and experience in statistical programming software, including proficiency in SAS and/or R is desirable.


Core Responsibilities
This position encompasses research, teaching and clinical responsibilities within the academy. The role is designed for individuals with a strong background in nutrition, particularly in nutrition research, clinical nutrition, and a passion for teaching. The candidate will be actively involved in developing and writing grants to funding agencies for new projects, manuscript writing, systematic reviews, planning courses and capacity building activities. The candidate will be involved in providing evidence based medical nutrition therapy for children and adults with different health conditions.

She/He will be responsible for coordination of research, operational, data, laboratory, and regulatory activities for research projects. The candidate will provide technical guidance on coordination of research projects.

This includes, but is not limited to coordination and updating of study-specific documentation, as well as collaboration with team members on the development of research protocols, submission of manuscripts and systematic reviews, and regulatory submissions to Institutional Review Boards and international funding organizations. The candidate will be responsible for program oversight and coordination of daily research activities and project logistics.

Specific Activities
Research

  • Write research grants to raise funds for new projects.
  • Establish research programs which aligns with the vision and mission of the Division of Nutrition and St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences.
  • Conduct research, design studies, implement projects, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Data collection, analysis and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.

Teaching and Education:

  • Supervise and mentor students in research projects and academic activities.
  • Develop and conduct courses in nutrition.
  • Participate in curriculum development and academic accreditation processes.

Clinical Duties:

  • Provide clinical nutrition services, including patient assessments and dietary management of patients referred to St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences.
  • Collaborate with the dietary department of the hospital to provide optimal services to patients.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary team to integrate nutrition into patient care plans.
  • Participate in clinical training coordination for students.

Duties related to the Division of Nutrition and Institution

  • Engage in all activities of the Division of Nutrition and St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences.
  • Participate and contribute to community outreach programs.
  • Foster collaborations with other academic organisations to advance nutrition research and education.
  • Mentor students of the Division and St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences in academic, research pursuits and professional development.
