General Manager– Information & Technology

General Manager IT – Its role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT department in line with the business objectives of the Academy. The role will take primary ownership for the Core IT Operations of the Academy and work under guidance of General Manager – IT to run, change and transform the Academy into a digital leader amongst Teaching Hospitals in India.
He/She will be responsible to plan, coordinate, direct and design IT related activities of the organization as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT Department.
The General Manager IT will work closely with decision makers in all departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective solutions for all aspects of the Academy.
He/She will define and implement IT Policies and Procedures in line with Best Practices in the industry and meeting standards such as NABH/ITIL to ensure guaranteed service levels based on SLAs to end users and information security/business continuity.
As a General Manager you be involved in planning IT Architecture for future needs of the Academy. Delivering IT projects/initiatives on time, meeting the scope and ensuring quality by effectively managing internal and external resources will be a key requirement along with the ability to bring in process change to improve business operations.

i. Effective Budget Management and containment of cost leakage

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Design, Implement and Operate all aspects of IT Infrastructure and Applications for entire campus of St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences.
2. Monitor and Ensure Performance of Infrastructure/Applications and Minimize Downtime.
3. Ensure Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery.
4. Ensure Information Security and Protection against Cyber threats.
5. Manage the Deployment, Monitoring, Maintenance, Development, Upgrade and support of all IT systems including end point devices, network and security equipment and data centre servers/storage.
6. Define the process and operate the help desk and meet end user expectation of IT services.
7. Maintain IT Assets Maintenance Records, renewal of AMC/CMC and order emergency repairs.
8. Understand requirements of units/departments and recommend suitable technologies.
9. Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for IT spending and initiatives.
10. Participate in planning future infrastructure and applications for the Academy.
11. Manage IT team, train, motivate and coach the staff to ensure that they grow as professionals and take responsibility for their actions.
12. A solid understanding of Technologies used in IT Infrastructure and Applications from end point devices to servers and deep knowledge of software engineering.
13. Deep technical knowledge of current IT Architecture, protocols, and standards.
14. Hands-on skills to monitor data centre in a virtualized environment (VM Ware) using appropriate tools and process (vSphere).
15. Working ability to design, configure and monitor a VLAN network and campus wide WiFi for access control and performance monitoring.
16. Business/Requirement Analysis skills, both in medical and non-medical domains preferably in a teaching hospital context.
17. Project management capability (PMP), ability to use MS Project, Gantt Charts and Work Breakdown methodologies to plan, monitor and deliver projects on time.
18. Program management capability to align stakeholder interests with technology team (internal and external), define priorities and get buy-in of users during commissioning and implementation.
19. Must have an uncompromising attitude towards quality.
20. Knowledge of Change Management, ITIL Practices.
21. Must demonstrate excellent written/oral interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
22. Ability to build organizational partnerships with others and be able to negotiate and build consensus.
23. Customer Orientation/Stakeholder Management - ability to handle interaction with faculty, students, patients, management and guests on campus.
24. Ability to manage own time and schedule own tasks. Must take the initiative to work efficiently without constant supervision and direction.
25. Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, and analytical abilities
26. Must be able to work varied shifts and/or additional hours
27. Ability to read, write, hear, and orally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.

Min. Qualifications: B.E (Computer Science, IT or Electronics/Electrical) / Master’s Degree preferable in CS/IT, EE or EC with certification in ITIL/PMP.
Experience: At least 12 years’ relevant technical experience, preferably in healthcare industry.
Skills Required: Highly self-motivated and able to push and get things done on his/her own.
