The Department of Radiology of St. John’s Medical College was established in the year 1978. Since then, the department has produced eminent Radiologists & Radiographers of national and international repute. With time it has grown into one of the most advanced and well- equipped Institute of Bengaluru. Armed with advance equipment’s, manned by competent Radiologists and well-trained Radiographers.
The department also has a full-fledged Intervention radiology which is a part of Radiology which closely works with other departments in diagnosing and providing wide spectrum of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic options such as guided biopsies, FNACs, tumour ablations, biliary interventions, bronchial artery embolization, Angioplasty and stenting for peripheral vascular diseases, Endo venous management of DVT, Varicose veins using available state of art technology. Dedicated Neuro Intervention Radiology team services are available round the clock in diagnosis and management of Acute stroke, Aneurysm coiling, Cerebral and spinal vascular malformations, Tumour embolization on par with global institutions using state of the art biplane Cath lab.
With its state-of-the-art ultrasound machines for abdominal, gynaecological, pelvic, obstetric, musculoskeletal, neonatal and Doppler examinations, 128 and 16 slice CT scanner, 1.5T and 3T MR scanner, digital and computerized radiography for quick and high-resolution radiographic imaging, fluoroscopic evaluation, urological diagnostic procedures and mammography to boast of, we cater to a wide spectrum of patients from both medical and surgical departments. 
The Department of Radiology started it journey with the professional Allied Health Since Course Diploma in Radiology in the year 1985, B.SC in the year of 2000. The students are getting trained theoretically and practically by well qualified, experienced Radiologists, faculty members, radiographers & other staffs. The AHS Courses offered by St. John’s Medical College (SJMC) are affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, Bengaluru.
