Palliative care workshop for the Bsc nursing students

The department of Pain and Palliative Medicine along with the department of medical surgical nursing conducted 2 days of workshop on Palliative care from 24/7/25 to 25/7/25. The staff from the department of palliative medicine had sessions on various topics. Introduction of Palliative care and Pain management has been taught by Dr. Nandini Vallath. Ms. Ann maria roy spoke about the Communication skills in Palliative care and the roleplay made the students more curious and attentive. Optimization of care - Quality of life and dignity was taken by Dr. Divya. Bro. Prince, who is a pioneer in palliative medicine, taught colostomy care , tracheostomy care and wound care with his real life experience and expertise. Dr. Vibha P. Kumar and sis Kalaivani have taken sessions on Nursing care for palliative patients, breathlessness management and continuity of care. Nanda C. Prem explained the problems of the caregiver and how to handle that as a nurse. The total participation of the students is 150.
