The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is actively involved in diverse and impactful research domains aimed at enhancing patient care, functional outcomes, and quality of life. The ongoing and emerging areas of research include:


• Caregiver Burden in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) – assessing psychosocial and functional impact on caregivers and exploring strategies for support and education.

• Sexual Rehabilitation in Spinal Cord Injury – addressing sexual health, counseling, and functional interventions to improve quality of life post-SCI.

• Cardiac Rehabilitation – integrating exercise physiology, risk factor modification, and lifestyle interventions in comprehensive cardiac rehab programs.

• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Research – studying post-TBI behavioral issues such as agitation and their management within a structured rehabilitation framework.

• Innovations in Orthotics – developing and evaluating customized orthotic solutions and adaptive devices to optimize patient mobility and function.
